The Spider Legs Number Recognition Worksheet helps young children practice numbers 3 through 8 through a simple drawing activity. Each numbered circle becomes a spider as children draw the matching number of legs. This free printable includes colorful and black-and-white versions for preschool and kindergarten practice.
Draw Spider Legs to Match Numbers 3–8
The worksheet features six smiling circles arranged in two columns, each displaying a number from 3 to 8. Children identify the number inside each circle, then draw that many legs around it. For example, they add three legs to the circle labeled 3 and eight legs to the circle labeled 8.
This activity combines number recognition, counting, and drawing practice. Children count each leg as they draw, connecting written numerals with quantities. Drawing the legs also gives them an opportunity to practice pencil control and fine motor coordination.
Teachers can use the worksheet during math centers, small-group lessons, or Halloween-themed activities. At home, parents can encourage children to count their completed spider legs aloud. The black-and-white version also allows children to color their spiders after finishing the counting exercise.
